Claxton GA agrees to end their 40+ years of Rattlesnake Roundups
Well, it finally happened… after almost two years of lobbying to try to save animals from being killed each year at local rattlesnake roundups, the folks in Claxton GA have agreed to change their event from one that collected and killed snakes to an event, which now celebrates the species
Letter from an 8-year old
Dear Sir,
“Don’t kill the snakes… please ;-( Do you see how much it hurts me when you and others kill the snakes? Why does your group kill snakes? Did you know animals help us and we humans do nothing but harass and kill them? Why don’t you help them? Why, can you tell me?…
Too Cute To Ignore?
We get great response when talking about cute endangered animals. But when speaking on the horror of Rattlesnake Roundups… silence. See why it’s so important.

Rattlesnake Roundups
Rattlesnake Roundups” are contests calling for hunters to bring in as many snakes as they can catch in a year, at which point the snakes are slaughtered and sold for skin and meat. Seven states still host these killing contests: Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
