Trivia question for Apr-13-2011
Since we are not available to post the answer for yesterday’s trivia like normal, we are adding the answer here. Please read below for todays trivia.
Answer to 04-12-11 Trivia questions:
The dinosaur looking creature we featured yesterday is the Sumatran Rhino. Sumatran Rhinoceroses were once quite numerous throughout Southeast Asia. It is now estimated that fewer than 275 individuals remain. When fighting, males use their teeth as opposed to their horns to seattle their differences. Here is more on these hairy little guys: Sumatran Rhino. Thanks for playing along and now on to today’s trivia 😉
By the look of their teeth, their bite is probably worse than their bark. They are one of the largest dolphins in the world, reaching up to 20-feet in length. Their predatory behavior and looks resembles their namesake relative.
These guys are black with a grey throat and neck. It has a slender body with an elongated tapered head and 44 teeth. The dorsal fin is sickle-shaped and its flippers are narrow, short and pointed.
So here are our questions: What is this species called and tell us if they are classified as endangered or not? Also, this particular species is the one that is most inclined to mass stranding. Can you tell us how many of these guys have been reported to be beached in one mass stranding?
Good Luck 😉
